Madison Capitols AAA Hockey

1977-78  Bantam Team

The First Tier I Team in the State of Wisconsin

The Capitals hockey program played an integral part in developing the skills needed to further my hockey career. I had lots of fun learning from qualified coaches, while at the same time gaining important national exposure that took my game to the next level.

The Madison Capitols are one of the most extraordinary and illustrious hockey programs in the country.  The Capitols pioneered the first AAA program in the State of Wisconsin and have become the model for many other programs, nationwide, that are currently in existence today.  The Capitols were established in 1977 by hockey visionaries Marlowe Suter, Paul Ryan, and Steve Badalich. They set out to cultivate a group of young hockey players by exposing them to better coaching, superior training, and the most competitive venues to showcase their talents.  This was the birth of the Madison Capitols and has been the driving force, the cornerstone, and the mission of the program for over 32 years.

Madison Capitols were recently rated amongst the

Our philosophy as an organization, as well as that of Coach Bob Suter, has always been to develop individual skills of each player through fundamentals at every practice.  The more a player develops their individual skills, the more they are able to contribute positively to the success of the team.  We stand firm in our belief that mastering fundamentals of the game is essential to player development and attainment of success at the next level.
